Kim Schatzel, PhD, became the 19th president of the University of Louisville on Feb. 1, 2023.
Under her leadership, UofL has realized several benchmarks in its efforts to redefine student success, perform as a research and innovation powerhouse and serve as a premier metropolitan university.
In just her second year in office, Schatzel directs a university that is fueled by the largest operating budget in its history and has received unprecedented state funding. As chair of UofL Health’s Board of Directors, Schatzel also works to align the health care enterprise with the university as one of the premier academic health systems in the country.
